Purpose & Mission
The purpose & mission of the Student Assistance Team (SAT) is to provide support to the teachers by developing and providing a plan to include interventions & strategies for general education students who are at risk and experiencing academic difficulties as a result of learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
SAT's Philosophy
Guiding principle that “Kids do well if they can…
...if they can’t, something is getting in the way. We need to figure out what so we can help.
Therefore, SAT will:
Provide alternative instructional practices which are responsive to the student’s needs
Document efforts regarding accommodations and interventions made for each student
Determine the most appropriate instructional support for the student
Work closely with the student's family and teachers to ensure each student is fully supported
