Our monthlong Kindness Challenge wrapped up this week. In Open Circle, we read The Invisible Boy, a picture book with a powerful message. On Friday, Miller 5th Graders celebrated, "Start with Hello" Day. We hope that students are inspired to keep the kindness going throughout the year and beyond.

Monday, October 1 - Nature Hike for Science; students should dress accordingly.

Tuesday, October 2 - Destination Imagination Information Meeting, 7-8pm; RAMS Auditorium

Other News:

Science:

  • The producers in our terrariums are growing like crazy! Students will be invited to bring in consumers the week of 10/8. (Ask your child about these vocabulary words and see what else they can tell you about food chains & webs).

Math:

  • We will take our Topic 1 Assessment this week over Place Value. Students have become pros on decimals to the thousandths place. We will review in class and aim for a low stress approach to taking the test. Look for tests to come home to be signed & returned the following week, on 10/9.

English Language Arts:

  • As part of our Wonder unit, students worked in pairs to create character trait posters. Look for photos on SeeSaw of this project in action.

Social Studies:

  • Students continue to actively working on their geography projects!
