Matt Baker

Athletic Director, Holliston High School

Matt Baker is the newly hired Athletic Director at Holliston High School. In his role, he is responsible for maintaining an athletic program highlighting character, integrity and good sportsmanship. He is also responsible for the hiring and direction of coaches, athletic trainer, volunteers and other support staff.

Baker came to Holliston after working for two years as the Associate Director of Athletics and Wellness at Mass Bay Community college. In his role at Mass Bay, he oversaw day-to-day operations in the athletic department, including athletic scheduling and all aspects of game administration. He also served as an athletic department academic advisor, as well as being a member of the College Appeals Board and College Judicial Board.

Baker came to Mass Bay after working in the Framingham State University athletic department as a staff assistant for twelve years. He served in many different capacities at Framingham State, including Director of Intramurals, Assistant Athletic & Recreation Center Manager, and Equipment/Operations Manager. He also oversaw the NCAA Champs Life Skills program.

Baker has spent time on the baseball and basketball coaching staffs at his alma mater, Ashland High School, as well as working as an assistant coach with the Post 77 Ashland Legion baseball team.

Baker holds a Masters of Public Administration from Framingham State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Assumption College.

Dave Dubin

Owner, Crossfit Firewall

Dave Dubin, Owner of CrossFit Firewall and Head Coach at CrossFit Firewall in Holliston MA, Dave has always been interested in helping individuals achieve their fitness goals. A Holliston native, Dave graduated with the class of 2012 at Holliston High as a captain for the Football, Wrestling and Lacrosse teams as well as an All-State wrestling champion. Working out and being healthy has been second nature for Dave and it lead him to pursue an Applied Exercise Science degree from Springfield College.

At the beginning of Dave’s sophomore year at Springfield, he founded Springfield College CrossFit where he was able to further progress his coaching skills through leading his fellow peers and professors through high intensity constantly varied workouts 7 days a week. While juggling school work and running the CrossFit club, Dave competed at the CrossFit Games East Regionals two years in a row amongst the fittest men in the northeast/Canada.

During Dave’s final semester at Springfield College, he took on a 950hr internship at Purdue University becoming an assistant Strength Coach for the Wrestling, Football and Women’s Volleyball.

Directly following his graduation from Springfield college in the Spring of 2016, Dave pursued his dream of opening up his own CrossFit facility with another fellow Holliston native, Alex Buckler. CrossFit Firewall is located in the Lowland Industrial park at 72 Jeffrey avenue. Dave and Alex run CrossFit, Bootcamp, Teens and Kids classes as well as nutrition seminars and a summer camp! Dr. Robert Prior

Lead Professor of Sports Leadership, Northeastern University

Dr. Robert Prior has been the lead professor for Northeastern University’s Sports Leadership master’s degree program for the past four years. Previous to that he was Department Chair and Associate Professor for the Sports Management program at Lasell College. He has a wealth of experience in the sports industry, having worked at both the professional and collegiate levels.

In the professional sports sector, he has served as Director of Media Relations for the Boston Celtics and the Director of Information and News Media for Major League Soccer. He was a Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for the Atlanta Braves during their three National League Championships and two World Series appearances in the early 90’s. He also worked as a Venue Manager for the Olympic Center during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

Following his experience in professional sports, he spent six years as Associate Director of Athletics for Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Saint Thomas University, and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Fitness and Leisure Studies from Salem State College.
