Janine Block

Investigator, MIT Lincoln Laboratory

Janine Block (Connors) graduated from Holliston High School in 2005 and earned her Bachelors degree in Criminology and Spanish from Stonehill College in 2009. During her senior year at Stonehill, Janine completed her internship at the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office in Brockton, MA, working in the domestic violence division. Upon graduating from college, Janine worked at Horace Mann Elementary School in Newton, MA, working as an inclusion assistant from 2009 - 2011. Janine is an HHS alum, Class of 2009.

In 2011, Janine was hired as a security officer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory working midnight shifts. Eight months later, she was promoted to an administrative position working in Special Programs within the Security Services Department. In this role she processed security clearance applications, foreign travel and foreign contact reporting, and provided security training to personnel at the Laboratory.

In late 2013, Janine left MIT Lincoln Laboratory and moved to Fort Benning, GA, to care for her (now) spouse who was injured in combat in Afghanistan. Janine soon found herself working at Auburn University, as the Clery compliance officer within the Public Safety Department. Her role involved collecting police reports, classifying crime statistics, and writing annual security reports for the university.

In 2016, Janine moved back to Massachusetts and returned to MIT Lincoln Laboratory as an Investigator in the Investigations and Threat Assessment Office. Her role involves investigating security incidents and preparing detailed investigative reports, providing counterintelligence briefings, analyzing intelligence collection attempts, and acting as a liaison between the Laboratory and federal law enforcement officials.

Outside of her career, Janine participates annually in the Pan-Mass Challenge and several veteran assistance charity events.

Michael Cassidy

Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director, Town of Holliston

Since 2000, Michael Cassidy has served as the Chief of the Holliston Fire Department. Chief Cassidy is a 1994 graduate of Harvard University, with a degree in Government; and a 2006 graduate of National University with a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership. An EMT in 1992, he became involved in fire and life safety education in schools; and currently serves as a member of the Massachusetts’ Public Fire and Life Safety Education Task Force. In 1999, he was certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education as an Educator at both the Junior High and High School levels. Since 2001, he has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Anna Maria College in Paxton, in both the Fire Science and Emergency Management degree programs. Chief Cassidy serves on the boards of several non-profits throughout New England. In addition to his undergraduate degree, he holds a M.S. in Organizational Leadership from National University and a M.A. in Criminal Justice from American Military University.

Gary Reinecke

FBI -Supervisory Special Agent (SSA)

Reinecke has a BS in Criminal Justice and a MA in Criminology. Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Reinecke spent 10 years with the Columbus, Ohio Police Department where he was assigned as a crime scene technician in the Detective Bureau. SSA Reinecke joined the FBI in 1986 and served as a field agent in Phoenix and Detroit where he was assigned to organized crime, bank robberies and drug investigations. In 1998 SSA Reinecke was promoted and transferred to the FBI Laboratory where he was assigned to the Evidence Response Team program. SSA Reinecke managed operational matters for the ERT program. SSA Reinecke retired from the FBI on 12/31/10 after 24 years of service. SSA Reinecke joined the staff at the BU School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology in January 2011.

Matt Stone

Chief of Police, Town of Holliston

Matt Stone graduated from Natick High School in 2001 and earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College, in 2005 and 2007. While attending his undergraduate program at Westfield State, he served as a Special Police Officer in the Town of Nantucket for two summers. During his junior and senior years in college, Matt completed two internships with the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit in Northampton, MA and in Springfield, MA. Upon graduating from college, Matt was hired as a police dispatcher for the Wellesley Police Department and then for the Massachusetts State Police.

In 2005, Matt was hired by the Holliston Police Department and attended the full-time police academy in Reading, MA. He graduated from the academy in May 2006 and has been serving the Town of Holliston for the past 8 years. In September 2012, Matt was re-assigned to the K-9 unit and attended a 16 week patrol canine academy. Matt was recently named to the honorable position as Chief of the Holliston Police Department.

In addition to his daily job responsibilities, Matt currently serves as the President of the Holliston Police Union, assists in the field training of new Police Officers, directs the Department website/social media pages, and participates in many community events here in Holliston.
