Avery Feloni

Illustrator, Artist

I'm asked often when I knew I wanted to be an artist; the truth of it is, it was never really a choice. Art has been a part of me as long as I have been a part of this world. I have been drawing longer than I've been able to form complete sentences, and will continue to create as long as my body will allow me to.

Growing up in Holliston, MA, my craft was always supported. The staff in the public school system always encouraged me to chase the fire- especially come high school when I met Mr. Lack. Doug Lack was an incredible influence to have encountered along my journey to becoming the working artist I am now. Following proudly and somewhat nervously in his footsteps, I pursued a BFA in illustration at Massart, graduating in 2016, and it was truly the best decision I have made for myself.

Since, I'll admit the work as a freelancer hasn't always come easy, and hasn't always been glamorous- but as the years have passed and I've continued to advocate for myself and continued to create, the prospect for jobs responded. Recently, I was hired via commission to illustrate my first published book cover, and am working now on my second that is to be published this summer. I also work as a freelance photographer, gigging events like weddings and headshots/ portraits, and as a chalk artist, creating boards for restaurants, distilleries, gyms, music festivals, and private events.

The version of society we humans have created for ourselves makes for a sometimes unwelcoming process regarding the path to success as a professional creator, however, those that posses the patience, tenacity and confidence to fight the hurt and breathe the beauty of art will always find success in some form or another, often in ways we never see coming.

Avery is a member of the HHS Class of 2012.

Michael Stone

Graphic Designer / Art Director, GrandArmy

As a multi-disciplinary creative, Michael develops concepts, writes copy and scripts, art directs photo and video shoots, and designs visuals for brand identities, experiences, and advertising campaigns.

He graduated from HHS in 2008, where his interests gravitated towards creative problem solving in math, science, and art. He attended Boston College to play football and pursue a degree in business and marketing. After an injury shortened his football career, he balanced his business classes with art classes in the hopes of building a career in the creative industry.

It wasn't until working as a project manager for an advertising firm in Boston that Michael learned about the fields of graphic design and art/creative direction. He enrolled at the School of Visual Arts in NYC to complete a Master of Fine Arts in Design Entrepreneurship, which focused on using design as a tool for authoring business ventures.

Michael is now at a creative studio in NYC called GrandArmy, where he works on projects for Adidas, Nike, Converse, Tuft'n Needle, A24, Justin Timberlake, Supercluster, and Comedy Central among others. Check them out at GrandArmy.com.
