Friday - Monday 7-10 December: Year 10 IEMs Individual Education Meetings

  • School is open for IEMs: Students only attend for their IEM

Tuesday 11 December: Last day of school for all students

Tuesday 11 December: Community Celebration Evening at 5 - 7pm

Monday 28 January: Anniversary Holiday

Individual Education Meetings: All Week

Foundation IEMs / new student IEMs. Students are only at school for their IEM

    • During the holidays all families will receive information regarding hubs/communities for 2019. New students and Year 9 and 10 students will be invited to book an IEM time for this week.

Tuesday 29 January: Foundation IEM, Year 9 and Year 10 and their whanau meet with their Learning Coach to make Course Selections for Semester 1. Students are only at school for their IEMs.

Wednesday 30 January: Kāhui Ako Staff Only Day (School will not be opened to students)

Thursday 31 January: Foundation and new Qual IEMs. Year 9 and Year 10 and their whanau meet with their Learning Coach to make Course Selections for Semester 1. New Year 11 - Year 13 meet with their Learning Coach to make course selections. Students are only at school for their IEMs.

Friday 1st February: Powhiri for Year 9 students / families (9am-approx 10:30 including morn tea) which will be supported by Year 10s and Year 13 Leaders. The Year 9 students will then remain for activities for the rest of the school day.

Monday 4 February: Years 9 - Years 13 Whole school day

Tuesday 5 February: Community Days

  • Each community takes part in an event / trip which focuses on building relationships within hubs/communities.

Wednesday 6 February: Waitangi Day

Thursday 7 February: Whole School - normal timetable: students receive timetables in morning hub

Year Levels

The Ministry of Education has determined that we will open in 2014 with Year 9 students and add a new Year 9 level each year resulting in a full Years 9-13 school in 2018.

2014: Year 9 only

2015: Years 9 and 10

2016: Years 9, 10 and 11

2017: Years 9, 10, 11 and 12

2018: Years 9, 10,11,12 and 13

Kamar Parent Portal

The Kamar parent portal is a website that allows parents to view their child's education progress at Hobsonville Point Secondary School. Parents can have access to the students Timetable, Attendance, Reports, NCEA Summary, Fees, Profile, School Calendar and their personal details which are kept on the school database.

It is recommended that you contact the school immediately should your email details change as the school communicates to parents via email. School Transport

Hobsonville Point Secondary School will actively promote safe, active and sustainable transport and will support and encourage the members of its community who choose to travel in active and sustainable ways. Learners who live more than 4.8k from the school and in zone will be provided with bus transportation. Once confirmed, routes will be communicated to families.

School Donation

Hobonville Point Secondary School does not charge Subject Activity Fees. Our School Donation is $400 per child or $600 per family which is tax deductible for Inland Revenue purposes. This does not include field trips and or sports fees.

Stationery Requirements

Learners and their families will be informed of these requirements depending on . Stationery requirements should always be discussed with a Learners Hub Coach.

Cashless School System

Hobsonville Point uses a secure ‘cash-free’ system known as Monitor and payments by Visa / Mastercard can be accepted online through the Kamar parent portal.
