Specialised Learning

Engaging, questioning, empowering

Specialised Learning is delivered through modules that provide coverage of the New Zealand Curriculum learning areas. These are delivered by specialist teachers at the appropriate curriculum level. Students select a range of modules that provide the depth and breadth of curriculum and wider topic coverage. Some modules have a specific learning area focus whilst others integrate a number of curriculum areas around a theme, topic or skill so that learning is enriched through connected disciplines with transferable skills. Some modules are compulsory and others optional to ensure core skills coverage. Specialised Learning Modules focus on learning through challenge to develop deep content, critical and creative thinking skills and independent learning skills. Students will use inquiry and design thinking processes to ensure high level thinking, complex problem-solving skills and authentic presentation of learning.
