Cross Country is a fantastic opportunity for parents and whanau to come along and support their children and enjoy the day.
Term 3 - Friday 22nd August
Championship Course - 3km +
Non-champ Course - 2km +
Star Course - 1km +
See below
Guthrie Park, Havelock North
The championship course is for those wanting to gain selection for the interschool cross country champs or gain the most points they possibly can for their house.
The championship course will give students far more points per runner starting with 100 for 1st place, 90 for 2nd and 80 for 3rd. From 4th down points will drop in 2s.
Running the cross country just isnt for some people however we want all students to give it a go. The non-champ course is a shorter option for those that want to participate but find running hard. This course means you would not qualify for the interschool competition.
1 point per runner.
At HNI, we are big on inclusion and want to ensure that there are ways to enable every student to be successful on the day. This year. we have introduced the STAR course at Cross Country. This is an option for those students who are ORS funded or if they are currently or just coming back from sickness but still wish to participate.
1 point per runner.
Super 6 (interschool) cross country is taking place in Week 10, Term 3.
