Threats

Species are hunted throughout for fur, food and as pets. They are also widely viewed as poultry pests and killed in retribution.

Conservation

Leopard cats are included in the ‘Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)’ Appendix II.
