Background of setting up

the Endangered Species Museum

A-School has been paying a lot of effort to promote environmental protection. A wide range of learning activities are organized every year to enhance everyone’s concern for the environment, such as the signature event “Green Week”, which includes talks, workshops, project displays and competitions to promote a sustainable lifestyle. Our dedicated effort in environmental education has earned us the Gold Award or the Silver Award in the Hong Kong Green School Award Competition for several years, and a Certificate of Merit under the 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (Secondary School Sector).

Our dedication to promoting environment protection does not stop here. Since 2010, our school has been collecting confiscated items of endangered species from the Customs and Excise Department through the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for educational purpose. Based on this collaboration, the Endangered Species Museum was established to display these items and other related information with the purpose of promoting wildlife conservation. Coupled with a variety of educational activities, the Museum aims at drawing a greater attention to the pressing need for environmental protection and wildlife conservation.
