Lori Bachtel, Business & Operations Director
I joined SkyView Academy in May 2013. I bring to SkyView an extensive background in Accounting, ranging from Corporate Accounting and Banking to Project Accounting at the Douglas County School District. While at Douglas County, I managed funds from Bonds and funds from Certificates of Purchase for Construction projects. One of the many projects that I oversaw funding for was the original purchase and construction of SkyView Academy.
While still in high school I developed interest in both the field of accounting and in teaching. My education in college focused on accounting and business while also working in the banking field. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s degree in Business Administration, I moved to the Denver area to start my career.
I am extremely excited to be working in the education field supporting the staff and students of SVA. I look forward to providing all that I can to make SkyView Academy a leading Charter School in Colorado.
Jen Bridgham, Volunteer Coordinator
I am very excited and honored to be a part of the team at SkyView Academy. I am originally from Kansas City and our family has made our way to Colorado by way of Phoenix and Dallas. We are so thrilled to be able to experience the beauty of Colorado and love exploring the mountains. I am a graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Marketing, and I have been fortunate to put that to use throughout my career working with some wonderful people that have shaped who I am. My work experience has always centered around people and providing them with assistance in seeing their goals and aspirations met. I enjoy spending my free time with my husband, who is my high school sweetheart, Chris (High School History teacher at SVA) and our three children Avery, Reece and Berkeley. I also love cooking, reading and going to concerts at Red Rocks! We are all so thrilled to be a part of the wonderful community at SkyView - Go Hawks!
Carrie Carlson, Office Manager
I have had the privilege of working at SkyView since we opened in 2010. It has been a wonderful experience to see our school grow from preschool through 5th all the way to watching our seniors graduate. My husband, Matt, and I have two daughters who attend SVA (and have since it opened). I feel very fortunate to have found a wonderful charter school with such passionate and dedicated teachers.
Jan Carroll, Office Assistant
This is my sixth year working at SVA. I am a parent of three, with one of my children here in middle school. My husband Doug and I have been married 18 years and moved from Ohio in 2005 with our young family. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Organization Development. The majority of my professional career before having a family was spent with the management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company in Cleveland, Ohio. We live in Highlands Ranch and thoroughly enjoy all that Colorado has to offer: skiing, hiking, golf and the majestic views!
Steve Donnafield, Facilities Manager
Decided to leave banking for something both more fulfilling and fun. Throughout my banking career I'd had the opportunity to work with school programs like DECA and FBLA and thought teaching might be something to consider. Spent the 2014-15 school year as a substitute teacher here at SVA and really enjoyed the variety that came with sub teaching at a K-12 school. During the Summer of 2015 I worked on a few facility projects with Ray Uhrig and as the 2015-16 school year approached, Ray asked if I'd come work for his team full time. With Ray leaving the end of 2016, I was asked to take over as the Facility Manager. Being here at SVA has been both fulfilling and fun.
Christy Dove, Health Assistant
I am a Colorado native and love to do life in this wonderful state! I attended Columbine High School and went to a small private college in Minnesota following my senior year. I met my husband of 19 years while attending college and the day after graduation we moved back to Colorado! I have 3 wonderful kids who all attend SkyView. This will be my fourth year as the 4th grade paraprofessional. I love getting to work with 4th graders as they are navigating the early years of becoming their unique self. I will also be the JV coach for our high school volleyball team this year.
Paula Harrison, Assessment Coordinator
This is my first year at SkyView Academy, but I have been teaching for 18 years. All of my years of teaching have been in Colorado charter schools with grades 3, 4, and 5

I have been substituting at SkyView since my youngest entered Kindergarten in 2012. I earned my Business degree at the University of Southern California (Go Trojans!) and my Teaching Credential at CSU Long Beach. After several years of volunteering at SVA, I decided to jump on board full-time as Registrar. I love talking to parents about SkyView!

Libby Melton, Marketing Manager
I have a BA of Art from Azusa Pacific University. Since graduation in 2000, I have accumulated over 12 years of experience working in large and small advertising agencies and for local business in the Denver Area.
Sue Robb, Sub Coordinator
I changed careers in 1998, moving from administrative work (of which I was thoroughly bored) to working in the classroom as a Learning Support Assistant. I quickly developed an interest in Challenging Behaviour, worked in an internal unit in mainstream school with students threatened with expulsion. After four years I discovered there was a government unit for 11-16-year-olds who were already permanently excluded from school. Wonderful! I worked there teaching Citizenship, Drugs & Relationship education until I left London for Colorado in late 2010. I now combine both my administrative skills and my love for working with children.
Kirk Rodrigue, Facility Technician
I graduated Douglas County High School before joining the Army reserves as a Behavioral Health Specialist. I completed basic training with honors at Fort Sill, OK, and completed Behavioral health training at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Vicky Schleining, Athletic Director
I am a long time resident of SkyView Academy. I helped open SVA on the Elementary side, as the librarian. I have watched it grow and become a huge building filled with great teachers and students. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Business, and I also played Volleyball as a Freshman. I have worked in Douglas County for almost 20 years and enjoy being with kids, watching them grow, learn and become citizens of character.
