Susan Beens, Tumbling
I am a Colorado native, but spent time in Nashville getting my undergraduate degree in business. While in Nashville, I opened a gymnastics facility. I have been teaching tumbling and acro for dance, along with strength and flexibility for many years. Before I coached tumbling for dance I coached gymnastics, starting at age 15. I was a competitive gymnast, stopping at level 9. I also trained in ballet, jazz, and lyrical at The Durango Ballet Academy. This is my second year at PPA.
Laura Boyce , Theatre
I have earned a BFA in Acting from the University of Oklahoma and have dedicated myself to the majesty of performing arts ever since. Following college, I acted professionally in Detroit and Chicago and spent evenings and summers directing a variety of productions and workshops with students ranging from pre-school to high school. After teaching middle school theatre for the last 4 years in Charlotte, NC, I am thrilled to find a new home at Parker Performing Arts School as the Elementary Theatre Teacher.
Alicia Brackney, 3rd Grade
Hi! My name is Alicia Brackney, and I am one of the new 3rd grade teachers at PPA! I have about 10 years of experience teaching 2nd and 3rd graders. I have lived around the world, including Japan and Germany. A year ago I moved to the Denver area after getting married to the love of my life. I’m excited to teach at PPA and find new ways to use technology in the classroom!
Jessica Colby, Music
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in vocal and general music education in 2011. I taught general music at Epperly Heights Elementary in Del City, Oklahoma for 5 years. I moved to Colorado last year to teach general music at Parker Performing Arts School. I am looking forward to my second year at PPA.
Ashley Cook, Science
I attended Colorado Christian University where I majored in elementary education. I have taught elementary students for the past 11 years in a variety of grade levels.
Randi Coy, 1st Grade
Hello! This is my first year at Parker Performing Arts and I am so thrilled to be here! I have taught junior kindergarten, kindergarten, first, and second grade prior to coming to PPA. I have my Masters in Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am a Colorado native and can't wait for a great year here!
Amy Escamilla, 3rd Grade
Hello! My name is Amy Escamilla and I am the 3rd grade academic teacher. I was born and raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I majored in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I spent my first year teaching in Lincoln, NE as a preschool teacher for Lincoln Public Schools. I moved to Parker and taught for the past three years at Iron Horse Elementary as a kindergarten and second grade teacher. This will be my fifth year teaching and I am thrilled to be joining Parker Performing Arts School!
Nikki Estep, Kindergarten
My name is Nikki Estep and I will be teaching full day Kindergarten. I taught half day Kindergarten last year here at PPA. I have experience in early childhood education and am in the process of getting my degree in special education.
Cricket Keller, Dance
I am originally from Clovis, NM where I trained in my mother's dance studio until I graduated from High School. I then moved to Los Angeles where danced professionally for 12 years doing television, commercials, stage, and film in Los Angeles, CA, as well as worked as a teacher and choreographer. I attended UCLA and graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in World Arts and Cultures in 2008. I moved to Parker in 2010 after my daughter was born to be closer to family.
Caitlin Kelley, 1st Grade
I was born and raised in Colorado and attended Colorado State University (GO RAMS!) graduating with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Afterwards, I worked as an assistant preschool teacher for three wonderful years and went back to school to get my license in elementary education. This will be my second year at PPA. Last year I taught both 1st and 2nd grade and loved every second of it! I'm excited for another amazing year teaching 1st!
Laura Lico, Kindergarten
Hi my Kindergarten Kiddos and families. My name is Laura Lico and I am truly honored to be teaching full-day Kindergarten at Parker Performing Arts for the second year. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an Elementary Education Teaching degree from Concordia University. My teaching career began over 20 years ago as a Kindergarten teacher in Aurora.
Heather Robinette, 4th Grade
Hello, my name is Heather Robinette and I am one of the 4th Grade Academic Teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Meeting and Travel Administration and have worked in hotels for 23 years. My true passion is in education and working with children, which is why I went back to school to get my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I have spent 6 years in online education and this will be my second year here at Parker Performing Arts.
Crystalyn Tappen, 2nd Grade
I was born in raised in the Motor City, Motown, Detroit Rock City! I received my undergrad at Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Educational Development and Curriculum. I've lived in Colorado for a few years, and LOVE IT! This is my second year at PPA, last year I was a 1st/2nd TA and this year I'm very excited to be a 2nd grade teacher!
Shauna Williams, 4th Grade
I am thrilled to be a part of the Parker Performing Arts School team. As far back that I can remember, when people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was and still is a teacher. I believe teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have. I got my Undergrad in Elementary Education, and received my Masters in ESOL (English as a Second Language to all Other Languages). I have been an elementary school teacher for 7 years, and enjoy each and every day with my students.

Welcome! I am so excited to start my second year at PPA! I previously taught 3rd grade, 4h grade and Preschool after graduating from University of Northern Colorado. I earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an English emphasis and a minor in Psychology.
