Our House system has been in place since 1925. For almost 100 years Hitchin Boys' have proudly worn their house colours. Boys are all placed into one of the four houses, Mattocke, Pierson, Radcliffe or Skynner. The school tie incorporates a coloured stripe denoting the wearer’s House, yellow, red, blue or green respectively. Each House is represented by two forms in each year group. Housepoints are awarded for good work, notable effort and praiseworthy actions. and the houses compete in a wide variety of competitions for the Times Shield including events such as chess, baking, sport and music competitions.

Each house has a coat of arms which you can find on the stained glass windows in the Library and a flag that you will find in the Main Hall.
