April 3, 2020
Dear High Tech High Families
We hope this finds you well and safe during this unprecedented time. Over the last few weeks our High Tech High Special Education Team, in collaboration with Site Directors, have been working tirelessly to ensure that your students will have what they need to continue their learning in the coming weeks.
In light of COVID19, on Monday, April 13, 2020, High Tech High Charter Schools will be implementing a distance learning model for all students. A temporary change in service delivery is necessary in order to implement your student’s IEP program moving forward. Access to special education services and supports will be provided through a distance learning model, as determined appropriate for each student who is eligible for special education.
Starting on April 6, 2020, Case Managers and service providers will be reaching out to each of you to determine the most appropriate service options for your child. To allow your student to have continued access to the general curriculum, and make progress on agreed upon IEP goals, temporary changes to the current IEP will be determined. These temporary changes will address the inability to provide in-person instruction/services at this time. These revisions are necessary based on appropriate health guidelines designed to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and preserve the health and safety of our students, families, and staff.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this difficult time.
