The name of the name of my internship site is A7D creative group, They are a marketing, printing creative group that specializes in helping clients with branding, social media and campaigns. My mentor is Anna Hopkins she is so sweet and kind, when it was time to email her for the first time ir only took 2 days after i emailed to respond.throughout my time in A7D Creative group, I am hoping to grow my understanding of fundamental marketing principles, explore various strategies, and comprehend the complications of graphic design both in terms of functionality and creation. My ambition is to gain extensive knowledge about marketing, with the hope that one day I will presume the role of marketing lead at a important corporation. However, as I start on this journey, i have concerns regarding the possibility of making a mistake or fail to provide a complete crucial task.
Week 1
These first week i was trying to see the culture and getting to know my coworkers. my work space is small but comfortable, it colorful and accessible. everybody most of the time are quiet but once someone would crack joke or they would talk about potential ideas for a project. everybody is nice to each other and friendly, of course at first it was a little scary to communicate to everybody but they were always welcome to answer any questions i had.
When starting my first week here in A7D creative group i realized that everybody can be in a small room without distracting someone. this has helped me with being more considerate that i work with other people and how i have to keep working in a quiet evironment. This picture is about how the office is and how everybody is working next to eachother without bugging the other person.
Week 2
How has or do you see your internship changing the way you consider that paths your future will take?
when i started this internship marketing was something i was interested but i did not know a lot about it, this week i got to sit down to observe on a meeting with client and seeing how they discuss about the designs the design lead explained the design for a grocery store aisle and i was really amazed how she handle that client. we went to the grocery store to take pictures for the grocery store asile signs and the other design for it, i realized how this is the career i want to take because i get to design really fun stuff , make campaings for business and then seeing them on the locations.
What is the biggest challenge you face at your internship?
One of the most significant challenges I faced was my incessant habit of checking the clock. During the first two weeks, I had a decent amount of assignments and needed to familiarize myself with the company's operations. I found myself constantly looking at the clock, eager to see when I would have lunch or when my workday would conclude.
Internship Final Project
For my final presentation i will giving ideas on how A7D printing can better their social media, branding and there website, so people know what the business is about by making a presentation. the final will look like a formal presentation with marketing plans for A7D Printing, the skills i will be utilizing are creativity, critical thinking and academic skills. This project will benefit the company because with my ideas i present they can put them into perspective and create a better branding for the company and a more elevated website.
Week 3
In these past few weeks i attended a few meeting with different types of clients, i got to see how they discuss about some changes the client wanted to make about the print or the design. one meeting i attend with the CEO of bivouac cider company were they discussed about the some details she wanted to add to the one graphic design for her cider can. Im really thankful that i get to attend these meetings and experience how they make decisions and give ideas, its a really good learning experience on how to handle clients.
Photo Essay
The time i had talking with my mentor (Natasha) i got to learn a lot about her and her stories about how she went thru a rollercoaster to find her passion. one highlight from the interview was when i ask her the question of 'how has your definition of success changed over time', she shared with me how her definition of success before was she went to a 4 years University, she married young, had kids at a young age and she bought a house, thats what success meant to her. over time her idea of "major sucess" changed, she explained to me that her major of success is now is paying attention to the little things "like a good conversation with a client is a success to me". When she told me this i really took it to heart because made me realize how success doesn't have to be a big accomplishment or having everything you ever wanted, but how the smallest things can be successes.
Week 4
In my internship i have started designing a valentine's day card, I used Canva to create it. hopefully next week i will be able to go to the A7d Printing shop and print them, so i can show them on Ipol day.
The advice i would give is to not be afraid to let loose your creativity or any idea you have because that great idea could become a beautiful project. Additionally, if you want to follow this job, start creating your own school presentations, posters, etc. to take advantage of the opportunity to truly express your creativity and make it uniquely yours.
Week 5
Mentor interview
what I am most thankful for while being a whole month at my internship site is being able to experience a real life job and having that routine, it made me realize that in the near future i will be able to have this job or routine because what my internship was about is what I am really passionate on that specific career. on last thing I am really grateful for is the friendship i build with my coworkers and my mentors, I was really fortunate to be able to work with such amazing people that supported me and cheered me on when i showed them some of my work that i have done. im grateful that i will still be able to have that relationship with my mentors and coworkers in the near future.
How do you see yourself making decisions about your own life beyond HTHMA? Do you see yourself following the same footsteps as a coworker in your internship? Yes I definitely do see my myself following the footsteps as on of my coworkers, the person I am talking about is my coworker Dani were she went to college to major in graphic design but in the marketing area. my internship is something that I really want to pursue in the future and make a living out it and this was a great way to start my journey.
