Developing and Writing NSF Proposals:
A Virtual Workshop for 2YC Geoscience Faculty  

 Part 1: June 25, 27, 2024

Part 2: July 8-12, 2024

12PM - 4PM (ET) / 11AM - 3PM (CT) / 10AM - 2PM (MT) / 9AM - 1PM (PT)

Part 1 focuses on the initial phase of the proposal development process with background on NSF programs, examples by 2YC grant recipients, and an opportunity to identify potential project collaborators.

Part 2 takes participants through the actual process of proposal development, including time for writing, reflection, feedback, and discussion, ending in a rough draft of a grant application. 

The workshop also includes pre- and post-workshop activities. All sessions will take place online via Zoom. 

This workshop aims to build the capacity of 2YC geoscience faculty to develop, write, and submit National Science Foundation (NSF) proposals. It will support and mentor 2YC geoscience faculty to develop grant proposals for submission to relevant programs in the NSF Division of Undergraduate Education (e.g., Innovations in Two-Year College STEM Education (ITYC), Improving Undergradute STEM Education (IUSE), NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM), and the Directorate for Geosciences.
