Hico ISD Strategic Planning

The Work

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, Hico ISD partnered with students, parents and community members to develop Strategic Plan that will guide our district over the next 3-5 years.  With the help of Ascend Consulting Educational Solutions, over one-hundred people worked together to create this roadmap.  As anyone knows, Hico ISD is already THE ONE SCHOOL, THE BEST SCHOOL and this plan will help take us to the next level as we use it to focus our planning and unify our purpose in serving the children of our district.

The Plan

Below is a one page document highlighting the Strategic Planning Final Product. We are excited to embark on this journey to take Hico ISD to the next level.

Strategic Leadership Workshop

On September 11, 2023 the Hico ISD School Board participated in a Vision Workshop with administrators, business office staff and counselors to create a district-wide vision statement and a list of belief statements. This workshop, led by Ascend Consulting Educational Solutions, fostered great conversation and led to the development of the framework on which the remainder of the plan will be written.

The Strategic 25

Strategic 25 Workshop: In October our Strategic 25 committee participated in a two day retreat where they were tasked with creating a mission statement and strategic objectives that align with the Hico ISD vision statement. This group of amazing educators, parents and community members served diligently under the leadership of Ascend Consulting Educational Solutions and produced great work!  We appreciate First United Methodist Church allowing us to use their facility for the retreat. Community partnerships are the key to our success!

Strategies and Strategic Objectives

Hico ISD has one action team for each of the strategic objectives listed below. Those teams will work together over the next few months to develop the action plan necessary to fulfill the strategic objectives. We look forward to seeing the products of their work and appreciate their willingness to volunteer their time for this project.
