Thanks to a grant from LISMA (Long Island School Media Association) students in Ms. Wilson's 7th Grade class were able to study award winning author Kwame Alexander Novels in Verse. Students participated in creating Black Out Poetry, as the author demonstrated in the book.

The goal of the Hicksville Middle School Library is to provide an environment where students and teachers can collaborate, explore and learn together. To help foster that, the library has a large collection of both fiction and non-fiction print material to meet the various interests of the school community.

In addition, the library subscribes to a number of periodicals and databases that provide the students with information on current events and other topics of interest.

Library Hours

The library is open during lunch periods 4, 5, 6, & 7, as long as a class is not scheduled.

Students can get a pass from the teacher on duty in the cafeteria.

The library is also open after school from 2:30 pm - 3:10 pm.

Extra Help

Mrs. Lasurdo is available for extra help

Tuesday 2:30-3:10 in the library.

Thanks to a generous grant from LISMA students in 7th grade English were provided the opportunity to study award winning Kwame Alexander's Novels in Verse and create Blackout Poetry during National Poetry Month
