Welcome to the Hickory Public Schools Virtual Learning Option

We are excited to offer our students a virtual option for the upcoming 2021 - 2022 academic school year. Please navigate the site to find out more information on how to apply and specific rules/expectations for online learning.

To learn more about virtual content delivery and available courses please visit the ABOUT Page.

Students should go by the courses that currently appear in their Edgenuity and not in PowerSchool.

We are currently in the process of moving Virtual Students classes and attendance over in PowerSchool to match what the student will be taking this semester in Edgenuity. Currently, PowerSchool is displaying the classes each student selected in the Spring of '21 and this is incorrect. We hope to have PowerSchool up-to-date and accurate with their current courses by the end of the week.

Attendance is also being taken in the opening meetings each day. Once schedules are updated in PowerSchool we will adjust attendance for each student accordingly. If you are receiving a call about your student being absent and they attended the Daily Opening Meeting please disregard those calls until PowerSchool Schedules are updated. Reminder that students are not connecting through live zooms for content and instruction. Learning for virtual students is being delivered through Edgenuity and not live meetings.

Make it count!

Virtual learning offers an opportunity to stay on track for graduation while at home. Parents and students must stay engaged in order to be successful. It is the students responsibility to complete the assigned coursework in a timely manner and attend all scheduled live class meetings/check-ins.

Please be aware that special offerings such as AP, CCP(Career College Promise), CTE, Promise Scholars, LR Scholars and other electives will not be available through the Virtual Option.

Please see the ABOUT PAGE to learn more about available elective offerings.
