What We Believe
Christian Beliefs:
Hickman Heights Christian Church believes in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and that it should be taken literally. We endeavor to follow the faith, doctrine, and practice of the church revealed in the New Testament.
Hickman Heights Christian Church accepts Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of God, as the Head of the church, and Master of our lives. He is the Only Way to reach the Father. He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins by being crucified on the cross. He was resurrected, ascended to the Father, and is literally coming again, at which time we, too will enjoy the resurrection and eternal life.
Hickman Heights Christian Church seeks fellowship with all who believe in Christ as the Son of God and have obeyed His commands as set forth in the Scriptures. The congregation practices weekly open communion (all Christians may participate). Hickman Heights Christian Church holds to the belief that we are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.
To Become a Christian:
It is our belief that the Bible teaches that in order to be saved one must...
(1) Believe in Christ - "...Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved..." (Acts 16:31)
(2) Repent of Sins - "...Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven..." (Acts 2:38)
(3) Confess Faith in Christ - "...If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
(4) Be Baptized with Christ in Christian Baptism (Immersion) - "We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." (Romans 6:4)
