Summer Opportunities 2021

Here are the details about summer basketball opportunities. Reply to me or text me (402-461-6625) if you have questions.

1. Tiger Basketball Camp and summer weights

- sign up for these on the HPS summer camp page.

- Tiger camp is June 1-4 from 10am to noon. Put that on your calendar right away.

- at camp we will work on individual skills and team concepts that will help us be successful this summer and next season.

2. We are planning to take teams to three team camps. We will have older and younger teams at each camp, so there should be a place for everyone who wants to participate. Each camp is a chance for us to play 3-4 games together against other schools. Let me know ASAP if you want to play at one or more of these. We will provide transportation to the York camps for all players.

- June 10 at York ($22 each includes lunch)

- June 14 at Hastings College ($28 includes shirt)

- June 29 at York ($22 includes lunch)

- (pay by the last day of school; make checks to Hastings Basketball; if cost is a problem, let me know.)

3. Monday open gyms. Put Monday evenings, starting June 7 on your calendar. We will have open gyms for shooting and playing games. We will be running Tiger League where each player can earn points each night she is there and will have prizes for the summer's best scorers. Open gym will start at 7pm each Monday in June. Once July comes around, we will have to adjust for gym availability.

4. Adams Central Summer League. We are planning on playing two teams of underclassmen in the Adams Central league. We will play 2 games every Thursday evening in June against other schools.

- cost is $20 per player

- any to-be 8, 9, 10, 11th graders can play.

5. Join our new REMIND lists for the 2022 season.

6. I like to be able to text players (especially in the summer to organize league, camps, and open gym). If you aren't sure that Coach Mays has your phone number, send him a text at 402-461-6625.

7. We are still looking for current 7-8-9 graders who want to play in a basketball tournament in Hastings on May 29. Text me if interested (402-461-6625).

8. Hope everyone has a great spring and is ready to go to work this June. The summer is when a lot of next winter's basketball games will be won and lost (we will also have a lot of fun!). Hope everyone can get involved in some way.
