We applied some techniques we’ve been using for product development. First of all we analyzed who the stakeholders are and we made models of them through the fictional characters of personas.
Those personas were representing national authorities, medical operators, workers, elder people, mothers/fathers, contractors or small entrepreneurs, etc. Ultimately, each of those personas gave us a representation of a well defined segment of our society.
Then we asked ourselves what are their needs/fears, and if and how they could have contributed to solving the problem.
When we were unsure about what specific reaction they might have, we called the friend that was closer to the fictional representation and we asked for advice. If you got a call by us asking what you would have done in a particular situation it was for all this, so thank you!
Very soon we realized that personas’ reaction would be deeply bound to context and the eventual restriction it brings into their lives. So, we started to make some hypotheses about what future scenarios could come after the lockdown that we’re currently experiencing. Those scenarios are largely foreseeing based on the Italian experience, with the current medical capability (no inexpensive and quick COVID19 medical test) and current technology (no tracking app).
