Jewish Milestone Reached

HHAI second graders received their first Chumashim (Torah in book form), celebrating this milestone in their Judaic textual study. During their Chumash play, students impressed everyone with their joyful singing, stage presence, affinity for camels, ability to quickly move from scene to scene and acting prowess. The students' love of and dedication to mitzvot was displayed in a video. This year we added the Acheinu to the play with students leading the audience in a song of solidarity with Israel. The celebration forged emotional memories for these young students and afforded them the opportunity to learn invaluable presentation skills.

Thank you to all of the dedicated teachers who made this play possible and mazal tov to all of our 2nd grade families!

We use the L'havin Curriculum to help guide us in our Chumash class. It's a curriculum used in hundreds of schools and was put together by world class educators.

I am attaching a link to some videos that you and your child can watch at home. These videos are a good resource for your child to review the skills he/she learned at school. Parents can also watch them to familiarize themselves with what their child is learning and to assist their child in mastering these skills.
