Welcome to HCHS Counselor's Corner
The mission of the Hertford County High School Counseling Department is to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate program to address students' academic and career goals in addition to supporting their personal and social needs. Additionally, we aim to facilitate the district's mission of providing a safe and caring environment, which empowers and graduates globally competitive students through diverse opportunities.This is accomplished through a partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to enable all students to become successful, productive, contributing citizens and lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.
Enroll
We'll help you apply for college, whether it is a two-year or four-year college/university. We'll teach you the ins and outs of the college application process, choosing a college, and providing opportunities to learn more about two and four year colleges inside and outside of NC.
Employ
We'll help you learn about various career paths by conducting career interest surveys, collaborating with our CTE Department, and hosting Virtual Career Series. We'll also assist with applying for jobs and procuring recommendations.
Enlist
We'll help you prepare to enlist in one of the United States of America military branches by collaborating with our JROTC instructors, having visits from military personnel, and learning about each branch and the qualifications to enlist.
