Distance Learning!

Some people think that COVID-19 has changed people’s lives, and that includes students, too. Well, this most certainly isn’t the case at Heritage International School because we continue our normal classes on a Distance Learning Plan. I am a student at Heritage International School and all I can say about Distance Learning is that it’s amazing! There is definitely a big difference between Distance Learning classes and normal classes, but it doesn’t affect the process of learning at all. The Distance Learning classes take place via Google Classroom, Hangouts or other apps. Teachers use Powerpoint or Google Slides for presentations and a bunch of interactive games like: Quizizz, Kahoot, Quizlet and many others. You might think that there are lessons where both the teacher and the students find difficulties,or example, Maths because there’s no whiteboard .Well, you are wrong. Our school profits from technology as much as it can, using online whiteboards which actually work really well. Some of the lessons that I think occur the best are : History, Romanian, German, English and Physics. We have so many interesting activities that you don’t even notice it when time passes.

Nevertheless, even though Distance Learning classes are fun, if I had to choose between normal classes and online classes I would go for normal classes. Personally, I feel more productive when I am in school because that is the right learning environment I got used to. Home is my relaxing environment, it’s where I watch movies, make origami and spend time with my family . That is probably why I am less productive here. But, I think I will get used to it as time will pass. In general, I think Distance Learning classes are really good for us. It’s quite an experience for both the teachers and the students because it’s something new. Also,don't forget to be safe, wash your hands and, most importantly, stay home!
