In my opinion, Mexico is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I love the culture, the food, people… but what I think I like the most is its beautiful areas.
Over my life I’ve been to many gorgeous places, but in the last 2 months I’ve been to some of my favorites.
San Miguel De Allende
San Miguel De Allende (or for locals San Mike) is a colonial era city, in upper central Mexico. It’s known for its Spanish Baroque architecture, active art scene, and cultural festivals.
San Miguel is perfect to go with your family, friends, partner, or even by yourself.
There many things to see and do like:
Take a nice walk
visit San Miguel Arcangel Parish
Go to “Cañada de la Virgen”
Go to “La Aurora” Fabric
the garden of San Miguel de Allende
El charco del ingenio
Santuario de Atotonilco
Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery
Mask museum
Atotonilco gallery
Parque Juárez
El mirador (where you will find the best view of san miguel)
Go to delicious Mexican restaurants and enjoy of the best views
Escondido place
I would definitely recommend going to San Miguel De Allen’s for a weekend at least. I would love to go back soon.
Grutas de Tolantongo
Tolantongo is a place that not many people know about. But it’s one of the most gorgeous destinations in my opinion in Mexico.
Tolantongo is located in the middle of a hill in Hidalgo.
Isa hot spring resort, where you will find the best views you won’t find anywhere else. The water is crystal clear and is circulating the whole time, so it’s clean water. The main grotto is located at the foot of a waterfall and from which thermal waters and springs flow. The water has a temperature of 34 degrees so it’s perfect.
I would recommend getting there Tuesday morning and leaving Wednesday afternoon so it’s not full of people.
I would also recommend going on the zip line to see the best views of the hill.
Tolantongo is not a place where there are many things to do, but the best things for me are:
Being in a pool and enjoying the view and the temperature of the water with your family, being on the terrace of your cabin and playing a board game, going to the river and just enjoying it.
Things you need to know before you go :
There are no reservations at the hotel, so it's best to arrive early and on a day that is not a holiday, because it will be packed with people. The entrance to the day costs 150 pesos per person and you can enjoy the whole place, the food is not very good but it does what it should, everything is very cheap, you can camp (you bring your own things).
These are just two of tones of beautiful places in Mexico you can visit and enjoy Mexican culture. This is why I really recommend investing your money on going to Mexico, because money comes back but opportunities don’t.
