Dancing Day, Texas Style

One day a year we set aside to teach students how to do some traditional Texas dances and even some line dancing. Mrs. Salinas and Mrs. Pack stopped by to join our class and Miss Haarmann's class for some Cotton Eye Joe.

Toward the end of the first semester the kids get together and pretend to be Stephen F. Austin and they recruit people to come to Texas. Then they display their posters in the school for all to see. During the colonization of Mexican Texas people would put G.T.T. on their door and move to Texas to start a new life. The kids really enjoy the Gone To Texas project.

In our classroom we use Google Classroom with Chromebooks almost daily and all of our activities are posted online so students can stay caught up even if they are absent. Your students and yourself can login with their Hereford ISD provided email address and password. Your student knows their information; they use it everyday.

I can be contacted anytime and will reply the same day if at all possible. Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any concerns or questions about your student or the class.
