Independent Practice

• Students move to individual tasks that require them to apply what they have learned own their own.

• Time for "catch and release" -- reflecting on the target -- students should be able to describe how the learning is empowering them to master the target.

• Students should make their thinking "visible" through what they say, do, make or write to demonstrate their understanding of the learning target.
