About Dr. Butler
I have been married to my wonderful husband Kevin for 13 years and we have a very active 7 year old son named Bolton "Bolt" Butler and a 4 year old daughter, Annalaine. We call her Sassy!
This will be my eleventh year of teaching in the field of Social Sciences. My undergraduate degree is from Troy University located in Troy, Alabama in Social Science Education as well as Psychology. I graduated as a student-athlete, playing tennis while in college. My Masters and Educational Specialist degrees both were earned from the University of Alabama in Educational Leadership, "Roll Tide." In 2014, I completed my doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment with my dissertation research and writing in Teacher Attrition and Retention.
I believe education is the key to success for young students. As a teacher, I hope to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering what truly inspires them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential.
I understand how vital education is in the preparation for young people to achieve success in all endeavors set before them. My personal enjoyment comes when students realize physical happiness boosts their performance at school, work, and play. In addition, students learn to appreciate and like the benefits of socialization, sportsmanship, personal achievement, and team spirit that are achieved through physical education. I hope to instill a love of learning and a desire for constant personal knowledge and growth within each student.
