Meet the Teacher

I am so excited to serve as the STEM Lab teacher! I look forward to getting to know both the parents and students of this wonderful school community!

I was born and raised in Valdosta, GA. I graduated from Valdosta State University in the winter of 2003 with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. In 2019 I completed the Gifted Endorsement program through Coastal Plains RESA in Lenox, GA, and I recently received my Master's degree in Education in the area of Elementary Reading and Mathematics Instruction, through Walden University. I have 19 years of teaching experience in grades 3-5. And have received many accolades during my career with two of those being inducted into the Educator Hall of Fame at Valdosta State University and being named a 2022 Top Ten Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year.

I currently reside in Covington with my husband Thomas and our 4 kids. My husband is a football, basketball, and golf coach at Union Grove High School as well as one of their math teachers. My oldest son Cameron is a Computer Engineer major at Kennesaw State University. My youngest three children Isaiah, Nicholas, and Jocelyn attend TRE.

As an educator my aspiration is to not feel bogged down by change, expectations, and criticism. I strive to not be afraid of tackling education as I see fit for my students in a creative way.

It is truly an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve the students and parents of TRE this school year!
