COVID-19 Vaccination Playbook

Henry County Schools is committed to the safety, health, and wellbeing of all students and staff as a way to ensure the strongest of learning environments. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in complex approaches to ensuring a high-quality education while providing it in a safe and healthy learning environment.

In early 2021, the Henry County Schools Vaccination Strategy Team was formed and has been deeply engaged with local health officials to elevate mitigation efforts to protect students and staff members. In March 2021, efforts included a comprehensive approach to providing COVID-19 vaccines for employees opting to receive them.

Now, in August and September 2021, efforts include an optional, one-time COVID-19 vaccination incentive pay supplement, as part of both the school system’s overall COVID-19 mitigation efforts to protect the learning and workforce stability of the 2021-2022 school year and as part of the organization doing its part toward holistic preventative measures to reduce community spread of the virus. Any employee’s participation in this unique one-time vaccination incentive is completely voluntarily. This opportunity ends September 30, 2021.

To ensure our employees make the most informed decision regarding this critical opportunity, this site is dedicated to providing ample, pertinent information for self-education and timely updates to breaking news and the district’s vaccination rollout plan. We also hope the voices of those staff members who have already received their vaccination provide a reassuring perspective from a fellow educator.
