About Me

My name is Mohammed Azher, and I am excited to begin another amazing school year at Smith-Barnes Elementary School! This is my 4th year teaching in Henry County Schools and my 9th year as an elementary educator.

I currently teach 4th and 5th Grade Math and Science, and I truly enjoy helping students build confidence as problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education from the American College of Education and am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Special Education at the same institution because I believe that great teachers are always learning and growing.

Outside of school, I have been blessed with a wonderful family. My beautiful wife, Saniya, and I have been together for 10 years. We have two amazing children—our daughter, Shanaya Kulsum (8), and our son, Mohammed Hamdan (5)—who keep us smiling and busy every day.

I believe that education is an ongoing journey with many stops, where every experience helps us grow. Most importantly, I believe that every child is unique, every child can learn, and every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. My classroom is built on high expectations, encouragement, respect, and a love of learning.

I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a fun, engaging, and successful year. Together, we will continue "Changing the Game Through Excellence!"
