Make a plan for a sculpture informed or inspired by the “inside of something.” Use the Planning With Multiple Ideas resource to experiment with multiple approaches to develop several different ideas. Document ideas through sketching.
Gather needed materials. Draw the pieces that will be cut out. Cut out the elements using scissors or a craft knife. Document process using photography.
Attach materials using glue, wire, tabs, slots, brass fasteners, and/or other attachment techniques. Practice and experiment with different attachment techniques. Document processes using photography.
Use repetition and layering of materials to add depth and interest to the sculpture. Experiment with different compositions, stepping back to view the in-progress sculpture from different angles and distances. Document processes using photography.
