CONCEPTS:
· Hatching is a technique to create values
· Crosshatching is a technique to create values
· Stippling is a technique to create values
· Thumbnails are techniques for planning compositions
on one page in your journal practice using the different shading techniques: Hatching, Cross Hatching, Stippling, & Random Marks
Create a value scale in your sketchbook of each technique (hatching, cross hatching, stipple, and random)
Follow the video to draw an apple using value to create the illusion of three dimensions.
Begin planning our your still life compositions in your sketchbooks with a minimum of 3 sketches
Think about the rule of thirds and look at your sketches then, begin drawing your contour lines on your large drawing paper. Create an interesting composition
You must have a minimum of 4 items in your drawing that are shaded correctly: you can use any of the shading techniques shown above
Spend time creating detail and texture through value to make your drawing as realistic as possible.
