Cut out and then trace the template with a pencil onto the posterboard. Mark tabs and fold lines.
Select six principles of design to represent on the cube. Choose a corresponding element of art and a color scheme for each principle. Label the cube template with the principles of design, elements of art, and color schemes to be used in the design. Label the choice of media.
Design each square in the cube template using pencil. Sketch the design, keeping the principle of design and the element of art for each square in mind.
Fill in each designed square using the chosen medium and color scheme. If wet media are used, allow time for drying.
Using a ballpoint pen and a ruler, score where the edges of the squares meet each other and meet the tabs. Cut out the cube, keeping the tabs in place.
Glue each tab to the correct side in order to form a cube.
