CONCEPTS
What role do observation and investigation play in the artmaking process?
How does the design of our environment influence our interactions and experiences within it?
How do artists recognize when their work has achieved its intended purpose and effect
Plan animation collaboratively in groups of 3, by creating a storyboard. Create background and characters using selected paper and drawing/painting media.
Arrange the created pieces for filming. Open the app. Take test images to make sure pieces are positioned correctly.
Mark the position of the device and paper so if the filming is interrupted, pieces can be returned.
Place characters for the first frame, and take a photo.
Move the characters slightly, and take another photo.
Continue to move objects within the animation area slightly, and take photos to add new frames.
Play the animation to review it before moving any objects. Make any necessary adjustments. Add final details, such as music, sound effects, titles, and credits. Export the animation file as a movie or .gif.
Present the animation to peers. Listen as classmates comment and ask questions about the animation. Reflect on the stop-motion animation process using the Artmaking Process Reflection assessment.
