STEAM in SPORTS Innovation Lab

Launched at Fairfield Middle School in 2026 through a $25,600 Henrico Education Foundation Innovative Solutions Grant with our friends at Hungary Creek, Fairfield has reimagined our weight room into a LifeReady workspace designed for every student. Anchored by HCPS's first professional-grade golf simulator enclosure, this lab embraces Henrico's Core Value of Innovation. 

But it's not about golf (as much as we love it),

 The Lab serves as a constant reminder that success in sports, business, and life requires passion and development of all the Durable Skills-- and that being the star athlete is not the only way to contribute. Far from it. In this space, the real skills are communication, collaboration, critical thikining and creative thinking. Whether it's math, science, design, or perfromance, every activity is engaging and collaborative- requiring teamwork and novel thinking. Our lab is a central hub where any student interest can connect to sports and activity. Whether we are 3D-printing custom sports gear, integrating our Fairfield Studio, hosting student exhibitions, representing Fairfield E-Sports, using VR to architect the sports venues of the future and so much more, this is where our interests meet innovation.
