Meet our Namesake
Hiking through the woods behind the cottage on our very first visit, we met this salamander! We identified it and discovered it is an eft, or young, of the salamander subspecies Red Spotted Newt. They can often be seen after rainstorms and we think she was female based on their preference for forested terrestrial habitats. She was one of the many reasons we fell hard for the property and decided to buy it! So, it was fitting that we named our cottage after the adorable efts who wander its woods.
