Room 311 had a great time at the "Mr. Poppers Penguins" performance today. (11/09/18)

I hope that everyone had a great Halloween and that you are gearing up for the holidays that are quickly approaching! The fall weather is here and the Peoples family love the cool weather and already dreaming of the first snow!

We strive to take the flock outside each day (weather permitting) so please know they should have a jacket if they tend to get cold when outside.

Thank you to all that took the time to come to the fall teacher conferences. If you were unable to attend, please reach out and we can schedule a time to have a phone conference or meet briefly after school regarding your student. I look forward to the second quarter and I am loving each and every day with room 311.

On Friday, students learned what a catapult was and watched a real pumpkin catapult competition (via youtube). In room 311, we were inspired to create our very out catapult using plastic spoons, tape, Popsicle sticks and rubber bands. The flock got to shoot their pumpkins 3 times and then wrote about their experience. Thanks to Ms. Dunn, students used science, math, and writing to compete in 311's first annual pumpkin catapult competition. (10/29/18)

What a fun "Red Ribbon" week! Mystery readers (TWO THIS WEEK) and lots of dress up opportunities! (10/19/18)

We still LOVE third grade and really growing fond of each other in room 311. The students are sweet and always look out for Mrs. Peoples (they like to keep her in line)! I look forward to the next 158 days left with Mrs. Peoples "flock". (10/04/18)

After a month of testing and adjusting to a new year, our enrichment time is full of snacks and blocks. Allowing time for room 311 to use imagination and building skills to create and learn from one another. We enjoy legos, playdough, wooden blocks and more! (09/28/18)

3rd grade ROCKS!

On the "big" playground, our sweet third graders wanted to share their love of the school year so far! (09/28/18)

Our class read "Not A Box" and was inspired to make our own creations using a brown paper bag!

The bags are "not bags" anymore- we had hot air balloons, mountains and more!

Welcome to Mrs. Peoples 3rd grade blog for 2018-2019 at Short Pump Elementary School. I am really enjoying working with your child and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this school year. We are going to learn a lot in the next nine months so get ready for the best year yet!

We ALL made it! Through the first days and weeks!

Its all up hill from here.
