I have updated our current content for this short week. I hope everyone has a wonderful break!

I showed the kids this science video today in class, and many of them requested that I post it. It is a YouTube clip, so I told them to ask their parents before going online.

  • I have updated the new content for the week. Please contact me with questions.
  • Any new raffle prizes will be greatly appreciated : )
  • Please read the following about the new HCPS Safety Lunch Policy:

This year, HCPS has changed this policy to help make your child safer. Only adults who are on the child’s authorization for pick up list are allowed to eat with your children unless you have provided a written note to the school authorizing your permission. For example, Grandma, who’s from out of town, comes to visit your child and wants to eat lunch with him. The only way she can eat lunch with your child is if you have placed Grandma on the authorization for pick up or have written a note.

  • Mrs. Dornik would like teachers to share the following message with parents:

WOW!! I hope that you have received the amazing brochures and stickers that came home in your children’s backpack this week!!! I was so impressed!!! Please go online to order any keepsakes you want by the deadline next Friday, November 16th. All the ordering information is printed on the brochure. Feel free to contact me with questions! Thanks to the many families who have already ordered, I know you are going to love these one of a kind treasures! All money raised will benefit your child directly in the SPES Art program!

  • As a reminder, I have been given the following message to share with you about the PTA's goal to provide each teacher with a walkie-talkie:

"Safety continues to be Short Pump ES’s number 1 priority, and this year, we hope that you can support

us in this effort as well. Please consider donating to the Stinger Fund, which is comprised of direct

donations to support instruction and this year safety as well. We need to raise over at least $15,000

collectively to reach our goal. The way we figure it is if each family in my class donates at least $25, it

will cover instructional materials of my classroom that the PTA financially provides each year and allows

me to have a walkie talkie, an enhanced security measure. Thank you for consideration!"

  • We had a FABULOUS first day of school! We organized our binders, learned many of our rules and procedures, and are getting used to our daily schedule. Please ask you child about the importance of preparing for their upcoming multiplication timed tests!
  • Your child should have given you a photo permission slip this evening. Thank you for returning that to school!
  • Please ask your child to look at our Weekly Missing Assignment sheet. This is how you can best stay up to date with your child's ability to complete all homework and classwork on time.
  • I am in need of dollar store raffle prizes and raffle tickets if anyone is able to send in a donation! Thank you in advance!
