THIS COURSE BEGINS JUNE 4, 2024.
Thank you for your interest in Summer Hybrid-Online Health and Physical Education, a popular program for students in Henrico County Public Schools. Enrollment in the program is capped at 500 students. Priority will be given to students who are missing HPE courses, to ensure they have the credits necessary for graduation. All interested students will need to enter the lottery in order to be selected for the summer course. See details on the registration information page.

Courses and Prerequisites:
Health and P.E. 9 (Course 7300); Prerequisite: completion of, or currently completing 8th grade.
Health and P.E. 10 (Course 7400); Prerequisite: completion of, or currently completing, course 7300.
Note: Courses are offered to students who will be enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools, or HCPS students enrolled at Maggie Walker Governor’s School during the 2023-24 and/or 2024-25 school year.

Lottery Application Sign-Up Dates:

Sign up for the lottery (once per child) only if you can commit to taking the class. Notification of acceptance to courses will be no later than March 1, 2024 via email.
Registration and Payment Dates:
March 4-22, 2024 at 4 p.m. Lottery recipients will receive email instructions with details for payment and registration. <----- NOW AVAILABLE BY EMAIL INVITATION ONLY.
Mandatory meetings:
Prior to June 4 Every student needs to have a heart rate monitor (their own or HCPS-loaned) prior to opening meeting. Any student needing to check out a heart rate monitor (indicated through registration) will schedule a pick-up with the program coordinator.
June 4 - Meeting #1 - Virtual, 6:00-9:00pm (all students, individual teacher TEAMS meeting link will be sent to student/parent).
June 25 - Meeting #2 - In Person, 3:00-5:30pm, Hermitage HS
First Aid / CPR / AED skills assessments will be conducted for all students in 9th grade HPE courses
10th graders also must attend this meeting
July 16 - Meeting #3 - In Person, 3:00 - completed, Hermitage HS
5:00pm targeted end time, all students
Final Exam, Computer and Watch Collection
All students will also have twice-monthly virtual meetings with their instructor for 1:1 check-in meetings.
Cost:
$225 tuition, restricted to Henrico County residents attending HCPS or MWGS/CodeRVA.
