Photojournalism is the yearbook production course. It is an honors elective and open to all grades. Staffers create a 200+ page book that contains the memorable moments of each year by taking photographs, interviewing students and staff, laying out pages using design software, and editing spreads. Unlike other classes, the work students complete for the yearbook contributes to more than just an elective grade. Yearbook is very much like a business within the school. Each year, students must meet deadlines set by the publisher, yearbook adviser, and yearbook editors. These deadlines are critical to the success of the yearbook’s creation and final image, as well as its ability to sell within the school community. This work demands high levels of maturity, responsibility, and personal initiative, but at the same time yearbook is a class full of creativity, collaboration, and camaraderie. Most of all, it is fun! If you want to be a part of our “yearbook family,” please complete an application for admission.
