Spanish I is a beginning level course. In Spanish 1 we will be focusing on the development of basic listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills in Spanish. We will also study the Hispanic culture and discuss current events occurring in Spanish-speaking countries.
This course is designed to facilitate proficiency of the 5 C’s – Standards of World Language Education at the Spanish I level.
Communication. Communicate effectively in more than one language in order to function in a variety of situations and for multiple purposes.
Cultures. Interact with cultural competence and understanding.
Connections. Connect with other disciplines and acquire information and diverse perspectives in order to use the language to function in academic and career-related situations.
