Art uses a variety of mediums. Crafts/ Material Studies aims to provide students with opportunities to explore the elements and principles of visual art through the use of 2D (two-dimensional) and 3D (three-dimensional) materials such as paint, textiles, and clay. Projects are designed to aid students in their understanding, analysis, and examination of artistic materials as well as their holistic learning of Art material components, techniques, expression, and cultural significance. This curriculum is for students who are ready to explore different art mediums.
Courses must be taken in sequential order; students who have completed Crafts can enroll in other introductory Studio Visual Art courses.
