HCS Makerspace Hub - Expeditions

Google Expeditions is an immersive education app that allows teachers and students to explore the world through over 1000 virtual-reality (VR) and 100 augmented-reality (AR) tours. You can swim with sharks, visit outer space, and more without leaving the classroom.

We have a kit that we share throughout Henderson County Schools. The kit includes all the hardware for a class to explore the world and beyond using the Google Expeditions app. We have one 30 student kit that can be signed out for use to trained HCS staff members. The kit comes in a large heavy Pelican case on wheels (17"x26"x45", 125+ lbs).

Visit the major memorials and monuments in the United States. The Washington Monument is missing. Students can write a letter to Google explaining the importance of this monument to the United States and why it needs to be included in Expeditions.

Tour Pearl Harbor and learn more about the events leading up to World War II
Climate Change across Environments with these Expeditions: Climate Change, Marine Life, Environmental Change in Borneo, Global Coral Bleaching Event
Anatomy and Physiology: Human Anatomy
Visit the Galapagos Islands, discover and classify animals for a lesson on Charles Darwin.
Career Tours
Visit the North Pole and Santa’s Workshop at Christmas to compare and contrast.
