Welcome to IB English 4

IB English IV is the final class in the Language A1 component of the International Baccalaureate course requirements. This is an HL (Higher Level) course which fulfills IB diploma requirements. Classwork is analogous to that of a college sophomore literature course. Students who perform sufficiently well on on compulsory IB exams in May will receive credit hours in all Texas public universities and most colleges throughout the country.

This course is designed to accommodate the needs of pupils who have been identified as Gifted and Talented (GT) and provides the necessary academic and social/emotional needs of these students.

Students in this course may also elect to take the Advanced Placement examination in Literature and Composition offered by the College Board each May. Sufficient scores on this exam can also provide high achieving students with credit hours in universities throughout the country.
