Welcome to the BCTEA Career and Counseling Page
Here at the Gene A. Buinger Career and Technical Education Academy, we want to help you find a career pathway for which you feel a passion and get you engaged in classes, clubs, and other learning opportunities in this pathway to determine if this could be a lifelong interest. We also want to be a part of your career development as you work toward your future success, and we have many resources to help you with this process.
First, we have a career resource center where you can explore career options and learn more about the education or training requirements of those careers.
Second, we have a Career Counselor, and I would be happy to assist you in learning about and choosing a career.
Third, we have a wonderful faculty with a wealth of experience in various career fields. They are here to provide you with opportunities to explore these careers and to develop personal & professional goals in order to prepare for a successful future.
Fourth, we have an expert staff who are here to assist you with any needs that you might have while you are here at our facility.
Finally, we have an amazing state-of-the-art facility, with the latest technology and industry standard materials, to give you a quality education in the career area of your choice.
We provide many opportunities for the students of our district to learn more about our school and the programs we provide.
We host tours for the eighth grade students in the fall of each year, we host tours for the sixth grade students each spring, and we have a week long camp for the seventh grade students to attend and try out our programs each summer. We also have our faculty and staff visit the secondary campuses at the beginning of the year to answer questions and hand out information to all of the parents and students.
The courses at the Buinger are open to students, grades 10-12, from both high schools but Career and Technical Education classes are offered at the junior highs and high schools as well.
If you are interested in learning more about our programs, please contact me by email through the link on this page, or by calling (817) 399-2203.
If you are interested in signing up for any of our courses or programs, please see the counselor at your home campus.
