This course introduces institutional planning and some of the performance metrics often used. It aims to explore the practice of university planning for those in technical lead roles who wish to develop a deeper understanding of university planning. The course takes a high-level and comprehensive approach, offering broad coverage of key concepts and practices.
The course objectives are to help participants learn more about:
key elements of the processes and efforts involved in university planning, including guiding principles and planning cycles
where, when and how to engage in planning activities
common metrics used in institutional planning
areas of focus when interpreting and applying performance metrics
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
Identify and engage the right colleagues within their institution to better connect their team and service with the year-round institutional planning process.
Differentiate between the technical and interpersonal skills required to participate in and influence university planning.
