Why don't I accept insurance?  

Insurance companies dictate the number of sessions  I can provide for my patients.  They also tell me that I must give you a diagnosis (that can be seen in your records forever) in order to treat a you.  So, if you are coming in for mild anxiousness, family struggles, self-esteem issues, etc.  I have to give you a mental health diagnosis in order to get paid by your insurance.  I do not believe that giving a person an unnecessary mental health diagnosis that will follow that person for the rest of their life is ethical.  

Additionaly, your insurance company OWNS your medical record, if they pay for sessions.  This means that they can and will audit your chart.  An audit means that your chart (yes your ENTIRE chart!) is sent to a random auditor who reads all of your session information.  As I value strict confidentiality for the people I provide therapy to, audits go against my ethical standards.  

Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits.  If you decide you would like to use them, you will pay me, and I will give you a bill to submit to the insurance company.  Also, the things I wrote above about diagnoses and audits will apply to you.  Your insurance company can do the above mentioned things because they paid you back for sessions.  

My rates vary depending on the services you request.  

Individual Therapy $125/5o min

Hypnosis $175/90 min (ask me about special pricing if purchasing more than one session)

ADHD Women's Support Group $25 per session
