First Peoples to French Revolution

Description of Course:

World History is a course in which students explore the interdependence of the world’s people. This course is a broad overview of human history from early civilization to 1815. This course builds and assesses competence in knowledge of content, communication (both verbal and written), gathering and researching information, analyzing a variety of historical sources, and making connections. Content will include political geography, historical background, political structure, and cultural information; connections will be made to current affairs. Semester one will cover western civilization from Ancient Greece to 1815. Semester two will include cover the Eastern Cultures and Native Americans from the first humans to 1815.

Quarter 2: European Exploration, Scientific Revolution, Age of Absolutism, Enlightenment, French Revolution

Quarter 3: Early Middle East, Egypt, Carthage, Persia, Ancient China, Feudal Japan

Quarter 4: Islam, Native American Civilizations, American, Industrial, and Latin American Revolutions
